About this settlement
In re: Fidelity Investments Data Breach Litigation (D. Mass., No. 1:24-cv-12601-LTS) covers the August 17–19, 2024 incident in which an unauthorized third party accessed Fidelity systems, exposing names, Social Security numbers, financial account and routing numbers, and driver's license information; Fidelity denies wrongdoing. The class covers everyone Fidelity notified of the incident, plus anyone whose financial account and routing numbers were exposed even without a notice (joint accountholders share one claim). Three tiers stack: an expected $100 pro-rata cash payment with no proof, a $50 CCPA payment for California residents, and up to $5,000 for documented out-of-pocket losses incurred on or after August 17, 2024; every class member can also add two years of CyEx credit monitoring with $1 million in fraud insurance. The court granted final approval on July 9, 2026 — only the claim deadline remains: July 27, 2026. The online portal needs the Login ID and PIN from your mailed notice, but the claim form can also be emailed or mailed without one. Payment by PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, prepaid card, or check. ClaimBridge lays out what registering takes and readies your registration as a class member. What you can claim: a pro-rata cash payment the administrator expects to be about $100, plus another $50 if you were a California resident, plus — and this is the tier worth the effort — up to $5,000 for documented out-of-pocket losses. Those three stack. The documented tier needs bank statements or receipts showing money you actually lost between August 17, 2024 and July 27, 2026 that nobody has reimbursed. Two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete with $1 million of fraud insurance comes with class membership. Filing needs the Unique ID and PIN printed on your mailed notice — if you can't find it, the administrator will reissue it.
