About this settlement
Under Illinois' Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), the suit alleged Snapchat collected facial-geometry data through Lenses and Filters without proper consent. The $35M fund (~$23M net) was distributed to the ~4M eligible Illinois residents who filed on time. The claim deadline was November 5, 2022.
