Part of the ZF-TRW Airbag Control Units MDL, this settlement covers Toyota vehicles whose airbag control units were allegedly vulnerable to electrical overstress that could prevent airbags from deploying in a crash. Covered models are the 2011–2019 Corolla, 2011–2013 Corolla Matrix, 2012–2018 Avalon, 2013–2018 Avalon HV, 2012–2019 Tacoma, 2012–2017 Tundra and 2012–2017 Sequoia. The base cash payment (up to $250) requires only your VIN — the official site has a lookup tool — and documented out-of-pocket expenses can be reimbursed on top. Claims run until December 11, 2028. ClaimBridge finds it, lays out what registering takes, and readies your registration as a class member. What you can claim: a residual payment of up to $250 on any subject vehicle — the administrator states that every class member may claim it "regardless of whether their Subject Vehicle was included in the Recall" — plus reimbursement, with no published cap, of what the ZF-TRW airbag control unit actually cost you: unreimbursed repair bills, a rental car or other transport to and from a Toyota dealer, towing, childcare while the recall work was done, and lost wages. Each of those needs a receipt or invoice, or a signed affidavit if you no longer have one. Every class member also gets non-cash benefits without claiming: an extended new-parts warranty, a vehicle inspection programme, and a rental or loaner car for any future recall. You do not need a Class Member ID — the VIN is the key — and the deadline is a long way off: December 11, 2028.

Who is eligible?

• You owned or leased a covered Toyota as of July 31, 2023 — current or former owners and lessees both qualify.
• The vehicle is a 2011–2019 Corolla, 2011–2013 Corolla Matrix, 2012–2018 Avalon, 2013–2018 Avalon HV, 2012–2019 Tacoma, 2012–2017 Tundra or 2012–2017 Sequoia.
• Your vehicle contains a covered ZF-TRW airbag control unit — the official VIN lookup confirms this.
