Allina Health Pixel Tracking

Against Allina Health System

Allina Health allegedly let Meta and Google tracking pixels on its websites and patient portal share patients' health information with advertisers. Patients and portal users from September 2018 – May 2026 split a $12.5 million fund pro rata, no documents required — claims due September 8, 2026.

About this settlement

Ahlers v. Allina Health System (D. Minn., No. 0:24-cv-03674) alleged that tracking pixels embedded on Allina's websites, MyChart patient portal, online bill pay, and scheduling pages transmitted patients' personal and health information to Meta, Google, and other third parties without consent; Allina denies wrongdoing. The $12,500,000 settlement is split into two funds: about $10.3 million for Group 1 (people who used the portal, online bill pay, or online scheduling between September 16, 2018 and May 11, 2026) and about $2.2 million for Group 2 (other Allina patients in the same window). Every approved claimant gets an equal pro-rata share of their group's fund — no receipts or documents, just a certification. The online form needs the 8-digit Claimant ID from your mailed or emailed notice (the administrator retrieves it at 1-800-956-7192 if you've lost it); online filers choose Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, or ACH, while mailed claims pay by check. Claims are due September 8, 2026; the final approval hearing is September 24, 2026. ClaimBridge lays out what registering takes and readies your registration as a class member. What you can claim: a pro-rata share of one of two funds, with no documentation required and no documented-loss tier at all. If you used the patient portal, or paid a bill or scheduled an appointment without the portal, between September 16, 2018 and May 11, 2026, you share $10,303,098; everyone else in the class shares $2,196,902. Both are net of fees, costs and the service award. The administrator publishes no per-person estimate. Filing needs the Notice ID from your mailed or emailed notice together with your last name, and there is no lookup if you've lost it.
