About this settlement
Tran/Cohen v. Sprouts Farmers Market (L.A. County Superior Court, No. 22STCV26572, consolidated with 23STCV08339) alleged that Sprouts registers printed more than the last five digits of customers' card numbers on electronically printed receipts, in violation of FACTA's truncation requirement; Sprouts denies wrongdoing and has adopted a written truncation policy as part of the settlement. The non-reversionary $5,000,000 fund pays every approved claimant an equal pro-rata check from the roughly $2.58 million remaining after fees, costs, and administration — one claim per person regardless of how many transactions. Class windows differ by card type: personal credit/debit cards August 16, 2020 – October 31, 2022; EBT cards March 15, 2021 – April 15, 2023. If you received the emailed notice (Notice Number starting with P), the short-form claim needs no documents; everyone else attaches a qualifying receipt or a card/EBT statement showing one Sprouts purchase in their window. Claims are due August 5, 2026 (online or mail postmark); the final approval hearing is November 19, 2026, and checks issue after that. The administrator publishes no per-person estimate, and it is one claim per person however many eligible card transactions you had. Filing needs no notice ID, but the form does text you a verification code, so have your phone to hand.

- I paid with my own personal credit or debit card at a U.S. Sprouts Farmers Market store between August 16, 2020 and October 31, 2022 (or with my own EBT card between March 15, 2021 and April 15, 2023)
- I received an electronically printed receipt at checkout showing more than the last 5 digits of my card number
- I have the emailed notice's Notice Number (starts with P), OR that receipt, OR a card/EBT statement showing one Sprouts purchase in my window
